Employment Opportunities   

Human Resources is a division within the Office of Administrative Services of the Supreme Court.  The office provides a range of human resources services for the Supreme Court in the areas of recruitment and employee retention initiatives.  The office also provides services to the Supreme Court as it relates to job classification, compensation, pay and benefits administration, labor and employee relations, and personnel policy development.  You may download an Application for Employment (Fillable) for submission to the Division of Human Resources. 

  

Judicial Clerkships

The Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands' Justices personally hire new Law Clerks in the spring or fall and review applications six (6) to twelve (12) months in advance. 

 

Appellate Law Clerks are employed by the Supreme Court but are assigned to work in the chambers of the individual justice who selected them. Justices have chambers in two locations: St. Thomas (two justices) and St. Croix (one justice). Clerkships at the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands are full-time positions for one year which may be renewed for an additional year.   

 

Law Clerks are not required to have taken the Virgin Islands bar examination. The work is full time and as necessary to complete the work.  

How to Apply: The application packet consists of a cover letter, résumé, law school transcript, writing sample, two letters of recommendation from law school faculty, and one letter of recommendation from the most recent work experience.  

Background investigations will be conducted on selected candidates.  Authorization to work in the United States will be required on the first day of employment.
